Mayor Ron Littlefield
         Ron Littlefield, Mayor

Message from the Mayor:

“Welcome to the Mayor’s Council on Disability. We have a lot of people in Chattanooga that can do a better job if we (the City) do a better job helping them along.  In the coming months and years we’re going to need all of your input for this committee to be successful.  With a diverse network of information, the dedicated people on this council will tell me what I need to know – in no uncertain terms.  It’s not going to be easy changing the way we do things, and change isn’t going to happen over night.  But I can assure you, with the Council on Disability as my partner in this new endeavor, together we can make Chattanooga a better place for everyone to live, work and play.”

Mission Statement

The Mayor’s Council on Disability's overall mission is to promote policies, programs, practices, and procedures that give equal opportunity for all individuals with disabilities, regardless of the nature or severity of the disability; and to empower individuals with disabilities to achieve economic self-sufficiency, independent living, and inclusion and integration into all aspects of society.
