Mayor’s Council on Disability Monthly Meeting
June 4, 2012—3:30 pm
The Eastgate Town Center Community Room.


The speaker will be Joe Thomas with Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve-Nashville. ESGR sponsors Free 3 day Employment Workshops throughout Tennessee for Reserve, Guard, AND the overall veteran population, including those with disabilities.

Mr. Thomas will speak at the Monday, June 4 MCD meeting about how ESGR teaches veterans in their 3 day workshops to:


• Create a Resume, or update your existing one
• Learn Effective Job Search techniques
• Gain Successful Interviewing Skills
• Learn to convert military skills to civilian terminology

Medicare and Medicaid Concerns?

The Tennessee State Health Insurance Program is holding free counseling sessions on the first and third Thursday of every month from 9 am to 11 am at the Eastgate Senior Activity Center  in Chattanooga and the first Wednesday of each month at Mount Canaan Baptist Church 2800 N Chamberlin in Chattanooga.


This is a great opportunity to sit face to face and get the help you need & want with your insurance concerns.

Hamilton County Emergency Notification System

Hamilton County Emergency Management with the support of the Local Emergency Planning Committee, and Hamilton County 911 has implemented a mass notification system that has the capability to rapidly contact county residents and businesses via recorded phone messages, text messages, or e-mail messages in case of emergency.

Closed Captioning at Chattanooga Theatre Centre


Chattanooga Chapter, HLAA, recently purchased an LED electronic captioning board for use at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre. The lighted captioning board was purchased with funds raised in the 2009 Walk4Hearing held at Chattanooga State and on the River Walk.
