2nd
Annual Spirit of ADA Celebration
Come and celebrate
the 16th anniversary of the signing of the Americans
with Disabilities Act, at the Chattanooga Choo Choo
Convention Center Ballroom, to be held on Wednesday,
August 09, 2006, 10:00am until 1:00pm.
The Americans with
Disabilities Act was signed into law on the White
House lawn on July 26, 1990. It guarantees equal
opportunity and inclusion of persons with disabilities
in all aspects of American life. Help us to share
with Chattanoogans the fact that persons with
disabilities have a voice and are active members of
this community!
Area
non-profit agencies will share information about their
services available for the elderly and for persons
with disabilities. David Morris from Habitat
International will be our keynote speaker. There will
be an art exhibit; musicians and dancers as well as
KIds on the Block will perform. What an opportunity
to learn about access for persons with disabilities
within our community. Come and join us for a
fun-filled anniversary celebration of ADA. All are
welcome.
Event sponsors
include the Mayor's Council on Disability, Moccasin
Bend Mental Health Institute, Signal Centers, Orange
Grove Center, the Vital Center and Merrill Lynch.
